How we curate the world's best low-carb beers
Our Global Mission
Lite.Beer is designed to help low-carb enthusiasts worldwide discover new beers, whether you are at your local supermarket or traveling abroad. We aim to be the definitive archive of low-carb brewing, including current favorites and a historical record of beers no longer in production.
Selection & Inclusion
To ensure a high standard, we follow two strict rules for listing a beer:
The "Lite" Branding
Any beer explicitly branded as "Lite" or "Light" is included because of its market positioning, regardless of its specific carbohydrate count.
The 1.9g Rule
Beers without "Lite" in their name are only included if they contain 1.9g or less of carbohydrates per 100 ml.
🚦 Understanding Our Carb Badges
We use a color-coded system so you can make informed choices at a glance:
Green — The Gold Standard
1.0g of carbs or less per 100 ml. The best low-carb choices out there.
Yellow Badge
1.5g of carbs or less per 100 ml. Still a great low-carb choice.
Orange Badge
2.0g of carbs or less per 100 ml. At the upper end of what we consider low-carb.
Red Badge
More than 2.0g of carbs per 100 ml. Typically branded "Lite" beers we include for their branding — flagged so you stay informed.
A Community-Driven Archive
Lite.Beer is a hybrid platform where data is maintained through a mix of official records and community contributions.
Submissions
Users can register new beers they find. To ensure data integrity, every submission is manually verified before being published.
Reporting
If you find a beer that is no longer available, you can report it.
Historical Archive
Instead of deleting discontinued beers, we move them to our Archive. This allows you to look up nutritional facts for beers that are no longer on the market.
